Down a burgundy and black spiral lies the unerground Funé, an elegant Japanese and boat-sushi establishment. A long chain of half-metre long wood boats float in an eternal circuit around the sushi chefs carving up wonderfully fresh slabs salmon. Before my meal’s end, a small tower of colourful plates have appeared at my elbow, each pattern denoting a different price. Some familiar, some new combinations (the scallop, avocado, and spice sushi was an especial favourite) lull me into a content bliss on a quiet Sunday evening.
